Soldering 101
Make reliable solder joints
Soldering bonds components using heated alloy; clean prep and heat control are key.
- iron temperature
- flux
- tinning
- joint quality
- fume safety
Prepare
Set iron temp, tin the tip, secure work, and apply flux if needed.
Join
Heat pad and lead together, feed solder into the joint, not the iron tip.
Finish
Inspect for shiny fillets, trim leads, and clean flux residue.
